The NordicTrack E10 is a well built Elliptical trainer that performs just as well as it looks – and it looks superb. This cross trainer is absolutely loaded with features including a power ramp, 20 built in programmes and unique patented iFit workout technology to ensure both jaw-dropping looks and muscle toning workouts. We quite liked the console on the E10, although for such a high spec machine we would have preferred something a bit more 2010. To unlock the full power of the heart rate control you will need a compatible heart rate monitor. Should you wish to expand the functionality, or refine your workout to even more specific goals or targets, the E10 is compatible with the iFit workout cards. With a design that wouldn’t look out of place in a gym, the NordicTrack E10 is built to impress. The Nordic Track E10 is not currently available from any retailers we're aware of in the UK. The E10 was the first of the current generation of folding, rear drive cross trainers from NordicTrack. Whilst every effort is made to give you accurate information we cannot guarantee the technical specification. Renowned for innovation, Nordic Track fitness equipment always has much to offer on the features front, and the E4.2 elliptical is no different. I found the machine offered a really smooth action too, making this very comfortable indeed.
For the space conscious, this elliptical comes in at a very reasonable 133cm length and although not foldable, can be moved pretty easily with the transport wheels.
This entry was posted in Cross Trainers of the Month, NordicTrack Cross Trainer Reviews by Alex. Upper body workout – Adjustable upper-body workout arms help tone the arms, shoulders, back, and torso.
Heart rate monitor – Grip pulse monitors are built into the handlebars and help people train within the best heart rate zone.
Oversized pedals – The roomy pedals are intended to provide foot comfort over long workouts.
Simple stride – While the XM’s fixed 18” stride is good enough for healthy exercise, it’s a notch below the adjustable strides available on other NordicTracks.
Sound system – A number of NordicTracks are offered with iPod compatibility, but the Commercial XM isn’t among them. The NordicTrack E11.0 elliptical combines health club style size and feel with the benefit of having a clever folding design to make it practical for the home setting. For starters it’s not just the size and design that reminded us of a commercial gym machine, the E11 has the build quality to match!
When you climb aboard and experience the smooth action of the machine, you instantly start to appreciate that build quality, as well as the design expertise that Nordic have acquired since building their first ski machine over 2 decades ago!
The E11 has a motorized power incline ramp which can be elevated from its standard position at 10% right up to 30%.
Your leg muscles can also get plenty more stimulation from the 20 resistance levels available. We also liked the way the resistance levels can be adjusted so quickly and conveniently with the one-step keys on the console. When it comes to even more training variety the E11.0 is fully-loaded with inbuilt programs!
These programs all vary from ‘beginner’ sessions lasting 20 minutes up to hour long ‘challenges’.
Unfortunately due to the absence of any ‘user -defined’ programs, there is no provision to add your personal details such as gender, height, weight etc. For more accurate feedback, the machine can be used with a compatible chest belt transmitter so you can be assured of ‘spot on’ pulse readings from the inbuilt receiver rather than the vague results you can expect from the pulse grip sensors on the static handles. What more than makes up for any programs that are lacking, is the abundance of downloadable workouts awaiting you if you subscribe to iFit Live!
Thinking up new and exciting destinations and terrains should certainly get your imagination wandering, but let’s turn our attention back to the home now! You will have to assemble this NordicTrack E14.0 Elliptical Cross Trainer by yourself once delivered, however it comes with instructions on how to put it together.
Was a toss up between this and a sole e35, decided for this in the end as it had more functions and I really liked the iFit and google map powered workouts. On doctors orders I needed to start exercising more but didn't much like the idea of travelling to the gym so bought a cross trainer instead. We have not yet had the opportunity to properly review the NordicTrack AudioStrider 900 Elliptical Trainer, but hope to be able to very soon. These include a powered incline ramp up to 30o usually found only in trainers costing over ?1,000. The MP3 station and speakers is a nice touch so you don’t catch the headphone wires with your hands whilst training.
The speakers are also used by the iFit programmes – a sort of virtual personal trainer.
The AudioStrides comes with 20 personal trainer programmes including two heart rate controlled programmes that help you stay in the fat-burning zone by matching the machine’s resistance to your pulse, if it slows down it increases the resistance, if it gets too high it will lower it. The 9kg flywheel gives a very smooth ride and the longer 18″ stride length delivers a true elliptical pattern to work your muscles whilst being kind to your joints.
Nordic claim this is a light commercial grade trainer and we have to agree that although lightweight, the steel frame has a solid feel to it.
The NordicTrack AudioStrider 900 is not currently available from any retailers we're aware of in the UK. This is a foldable trainer so if space is a little tight a folding machine can be useful as you can reduce its length and slide it away out of sight.

Moving the machine around is pretty straight forward thanks to the built-in transport wheels fitted at the front and the lightweight structure, it can be moved either folded or fully extended. And finally, the AudioStrider 900's extensive warranty covers the frame for life and everything else, parts and labour, for two years. The console (see left) has a backlit high resolution LCD display and was clear and easy to read.
From our experience of working with many clients knowing this information can help when you're getting tired.
The one-touch buttons to select the resistance level (there are 15), incline, or select a programme make for an easier workout as you don't have to scroll through the options as on some trainers. Lately we've heard of a fault with some machines but our users have yet to report anything, discontinued model. I think the addition of a built in games system is a little much, but nevertheless a nice little addition. Like many ellipticals before it, the NordicTrack ACT has transferred over to a central drive, even if it is a little late in doing so.
GRAFIXX™ High Resolution Display – Console display advanced enough to animate an electronic figure to work out along with you. DUAL-GRIP EKG™ Heart Rate Monitor – Monitor your heart rate with the sensors that are built into the handlebars to ensure you are in the right training zone for your goals. 20 IFIT® Personal Trainer Wokouts – Gives you instruction and automatically adjusts the resistance of the elliptical to focus on aerobic, weight loss, or performance goals. COOLAIRE™ Workout Fan – To help you work out longer and more comfortably, this elliptical has a workout fan built right into the console. IFIT® Workout Card Technology – Each card is designed by a Certified Personal Trainer and plugs directly into the ellipticals console, automatically adjusting your resistance and incline, while the voice of a personal trainer takes you through each workout.
NordicTrack have hit a real home run with this elliptical, both in terms of function and design. 6 of the workouts are dedicated to weight loss and the other performance workouts focus on fitness. These cards provide voice feedback on your progress as you make your way through structured and professionally designed, 8 week workouts. The power ramp can alter the incline from 10% to 30% which effectively changes the muscle groups being worked. At under ?700, this Nordic certainly represents a hell of a lot of elliptical for the money. With a total of 20 challenging resistance levels and iFit SD card compatibility, it’s great for those who want some variety in their workout.
In total, there are 23 workouts – not many offer that much variety – and they all have their benefits, depending on your goals. You can buy different iFit SD cards for under ?20, all offering different workouts, such as weight loss, wellness, etc. Although many advise that a 20 inch stride is preferable, this elliptical offers 17 inches, which I found very comfortable. Compared to others in this price range, it was definitely superior, so I think you’d be hard pushed to find smoother. Even though it helps to save space, I think it’s best to make an exception with ellipticals, otherwise you do lose out on comfort.
This isn’t a machine for hefty people, but smaller women in particular call this a fantastic machine for toning trouble spots. The machine automatically adjusts resistance levels to specially target quadriceps, calves, and other muscle groups. It lacks the fancy extras of some other NordicTracks, but it provides great workouts at a low cost. Commercial Pro (18” to 20”), the FreeStrider 35S (up to 35”), and the Pathfinder (18” to 20”).
In essence, it’s rather like the best of both worlds and in the ‘world’ of Elliptical Cross Trainers, that’s a feature that makes this machine outstanding. Here is a machine capable of coping with users over 23 stone and NordicTrack back that up with a reassuring warranty – giving you a Lifetime guarantee on the frame and 2 years on parts and labour!
The time it takes to make that adjustment is painfully slow (it takes nearly an entire minute to get to full incline!) BUT the wait was well worth it! We found the maximum resistance level to be very tough, so whether you’re a beginner or an advanced trainer, there are gradual increments to keep progress manageable and offer plenty of challenges. Although it’s not possible to alter the duration of the workouts, you do of course have the control to adjust speed, resistance and incline at any stage.
Aside from the fact that subconsciously you’d probably be concentrating more on the ‘calorie’ data during the calorie goal workouts doesn’t really make it any more suited to that particular goal than trying to burn up calories during an Incline workout!
On the top of the console is a dock to house an iFit Module (sold separately) and it can link wirelessly to the iFit website giving you access to over 1000 workouts plus the option of creating your own routes from anywhere on the globe!
The E11.0 is designed with some considerate features that should make it a welcome addition to most living spaces. You’re looking at a machine that wouldn't look out of place in a commercial setting yet has the clever folding design to fit in the home as conveniently as possible.
This item may be a floor model or an item that has been returned to the seller after a period of use.
By clicking Confirm bid you commit to buy this item from the seller if you are the winning bidder. Import charges previously quoted are subject to change if you increase you maximum bid amount. The Quick-Touch resistance and incline controls allow for easy changes, while the 7" full colour touch screen display with an easy to adjust angle offers feedback on the crucial workout data.
The cross trainer itself feels very smooth to use and has a lot of different modes and workout to choose from. We both use it on a daily basis and the fact you can adjust the stride length is ideal for us as we have a fair height difference.
So you can literally work your butt off – plus your calves and legs by just pressing a button on the console. Music is for many an important part of a workout and the sound from the built-in speakers is good. They control the machine to take you through a series of levels of difficulty, it will also talk to you giving you step-by-step instructions via the built-in speakers on the console. The combination of 15 different resistance levels and the incline function provide plenty of variation to work either on your aerobic fitness, building strength, lose weight and burn fat.

Ease of portability can be a major factor in choosing a trainer because if you're not feeling too motivated to train, the thought of struggling to get your trainer into place may be enough to put you off!
You can see all the usual data relating to your session such as your speed, time per session, distance travelled, calories burnt, a carb gram counter and your pulse rate.
To see how many calories you've burnt and how far you've gone can inspire you to keep going to the end of your programme.
The console also has a built-in fan with four settings to keep you cool and is one of the few fans we've come across that is effective. Unlike a lot of bulky ellipticals, particularly older Nordictrack models, the NordicTrack ACT elliptical hardly takes up space, perfect for people who don’t have a lot of room to play with! Nordictrack could have perhaps installed a wireless heart rate monitor too, but for the price you can’t really grumble. That serves as a benefit though as Nordictrack have skipped all the issues early adopters had with their machines. Whilst other companies were pushing the latest central drive systems out the factory, Nordictrack bided their time, and it served them well.
We think that should be sufficient for all users and makes the E10 3 times the cross trainer compared to most, especially combined with the heart rate control and 6kg, rear loading flywheel. We found it to be one of the best cross trainers in the price range and would heartily recommend it to any user, but especially those looking for a machine that is built to last with the flexibility to expand workout options. However, if you're considering this machine, we'd recommend also having a look at the Nordic E11, which is available for the same price but with a heavier flywheel and iFit Live compatibility, rather than the original iFit SD. The focus on innovation doesn’t compromise the overall quality though as it’s a solid elliptical offering a very smooth workout. There are 12 personal trainer programmes, which are great if you need that extra pressure in your ear to get you moving! At just under 6 feet tall, I’ve always found this stride length to be more than adequate so would only advise you to perhaps look for longer if you’re of exceptional height.
It includes 16 personal trainer workouts plus Quick Target Toning to maximize the efficiency of exercise. Better yet, NordicTrack have a reputation for packing a lot of features into their machines so we were eager to discover what else the E11.0 has to offer….
At 30% the elliptical movement takes on a noticeably different feel, giving a deeper tread (by about 2”) which feels rather more like the effect you’d expect if you crossed a stepper with an elliptical!
From making a familiar lap round your own block to mapping out a more adventurous course abroad, you literally have the whole world at your fingertips! For starters, when it comes to moving it, this machine may well be a large heavy unit but the chunky D-shaped handle welded to the rear stabiliser makes lifting it up fairly manageable. Speaking of variety, you are spoilt for choice in terms of programs and when you want more, iFit live can give you hundreds to choose from! If you reside in an EU member state besides UK, import VAT on this purchase is not recoverable. The machine has a very impressive selection of 39 programmes and gives you access to over 1000 interactive workouts powered by Google Maps™ due to an integrated iFit Live module and the included 1 year iFit subscription.
It is more comfortable compared to other machines because I can exercise in an upright position. I called customer service to get some help and they said they knew nothing about setting it up. I have tried out smaller, but noticed the difference as the stride length just wasn’t long enough. This is a fantastic way to target the leg muscles from a whole different angle and the great news is that it still felt safe and comfortable on the joints.
Once angled upwards it can be maneuvered on the large 3.5” diameter roller wheels at the front.
It’s fair to say that setting up the programs does take some mastering – the E11.0 is not the most user-friendly or intuitive machine we have ever tested, but it is certainly one of the most rewarding when you take the time to familiarize yourself with it.
It has everything wea€™ve come to expect from Nordic. The big bonus with this model has to be the iFitTM Workout Card Technology.
The pedals are spaced for the most natural stride, whereas the Energy Return Cushioning system ensures maximum comfort and minimum muscle fatigue. This elliptical stands out among the best of what NordicTrack has to offer and ranks highly among other ellipticals in its price range. It has 26 built-in workout programs and you can easily make your own too, but I decided to go with what is already in it. You may also be interested to know that it also includes 24 treadmill and exercise bike workouts too, so you could use on the NordicTrack GX3.2 Upright Cycle, for example.
Obviously the substantial size of this model may make it impractical if space is an issue, however thanks to the ingenious space saving folding design, the overall footprint can be reduced by over 2 feet when not in use. These are specifically designed programmes on a card, similar to a digital camera card, to help you achieve whatever your fitness goal may be.
I declined and decided to do it myself and I spent nearly six hours figuring where things were supposed to go and I had an extra pair of hands because my girlfriend helped. What I really liked was all the feedback for your workout clearly displayed on the console. Listening to the certified personal trainer, I was talked through my workout from start to end. The E4.2 was the largest I could find that fits nicely in my home gym – not taking up too much space but also not compromising on user experience. Not only do they control the machine to take you through a series of levels of difficulty, it will also talk to you! You recieve step-by-step instructions via the built-in speakers on the console. The CX650 comes with 5 Personal Trainer workouts that work on aerobic fitness, weight loss, or performance goals.
It comes with iFit Live which will connect you to the Internet so that you can download workouts from Jillian Miachales of the Biggest Loser, but this will only work if you have wireless connection. There are also two heart rate controlled programmes that help you stay in the fat-burning zone by matching the machinea€™s resistance to your pulse, if it slows down it increases the resistance, if it gets too high it will lower it a€“ so it does have a heart :0)You can measure your pulse using the grips next to the console.
