The V-fit BK Series RC is a single action recumbent magnetic exercise bike with fixed handlebars.
The budget priced Schwinn Active 20 Series recumbent exercise bike gets positive reviews and has many qualities that are appreciated by new owners. The Schwinn Active 20 Series recumbent exercise bike has a magnetic Eddy Current Brake system for quiet operation, and the pedals have straps to keep your feet secured for long workout sessions. The one caution to take away from reviews on the Schwinn Active 20 Series exercise bike is that some users are not aware that when the batteries die, not only does the console go dark, the resistance stops and the pedals spin freely.
The biggest problem we have with this model stems from the many reports by users who say that while the seat locks into place with no weight on it, once the user sits down, the seat often unlocks and slides forward. The Reebok Z9 exercise bike features stylish design and is suitable for users of all ages and abilities.
Firstly I think the product, the Reebok Z9 upright exercise bike, is very good and I'd recommend it. On the negative side, firstly after one session the belt came off the flywheel so I had no resistance.
I'd also add that the assembly instructions are not great and the print and diagram size is really small - but this was minor pain. So all in all, this is a good product and at ?200 is almost as good as the ?4000 bikes you get in a public gym.
Chose this bike for my husband who has always had exercise bikes and he is very pleased with it.
The Proform(r) SR20 upright magnetic bike features a Competitor(tm) control panel large LCD window to help get you motivated and stay on track with constant feedback.
Part of the V-fit BK-11 range, it features a smooth and reliable 8-stage magnetic resistance control and a 4.5kg cast iron, friction-free flywheel. The console is powered by four C batteries and shuts off automatically after five minutes if pedaling stops.

You will need to replace the batteries every few weeks if you use it often, and of course, you should remove the batteries completely if you dona€™t plan to use the bike for a while. This poor design feature, plus the fact that there is no option to add an AC power adapter, is a deal-breaker on this $249 model. The pedalling action is incredibly smooth, it's virtually silent and there are loads of programmes and features. I also say that Sweatband's customer support is good - when the problem arose with my bike, they took genuine concern and arranged for an engineer to come out as quickly as possible. Sweatband said this is rare and might have had something to do with being knocked in transport but I suspect it wasn't put on right in the factory. The SMR(tm) Silent Magnetic Resistance is a smooth, frictionless resistance system which allows you to adjust workout intensity.
Key statistics of your workout, such as the calories burnt, distance covered, hand pulse, ODO, scan, speed and time are displayed on the 7 function LCD exercise monitor. The bike is great in regardsto it's price and status as a low end bike, but has a few 'very minor' problems: Difficult to change seating position, so if bike has multiple users this can be a bit annoying. Equipment pros note that the LCD display is not backlit so it can be hard to read in low-light situations. Although many users seem to be satisfied with the Active 20 recumbent bike, users over 6 feet tall recommend that you skip this model since the seat does not go back far enough for comfortable leg extension. We generally love these bikes but the Schwinn Active 20 Series recumbent exercise bike is Not Recommended until the company fixes these issues.
The machine has adjustable handlebars and a height adjustable seat, which ensure comfortable workouts. I managed to carry it upstairs and put it together myself but it would have been easier with 2 people. Although I had booked an engineer from Reebok thru Sweatband to come and fix it, it was going to take two weeks so I fixed it myself however most people do not have the kit to take off a pedal and crank (which is what you need to do to take off the casing to access the belt drive and flywheel).

Having read reviews of other bikes before I bought this I can safely say that they too have problems with some bikes so it is just one of those things. Bought the bike to assist with recovery from knee op, but the whole family are keen to have a go. Another issue with the Active 20 bike is that the warranty is very short: only six months covering the mechanical and electric parts. Update: Schwinn is replacing the Active 20 Series with the new A20 recumbent model and has corrected the problems mentioned above.
The back lit LCD monitor provides detailed feedback on time, speed, RPM, distance, calories, pulse and watt.
I still kept the appointment though as the casing had not been put together right in the factory and he screwed it together properly. The important thing is 1) the bike is good and good value and 2) the customer support is good, they actually care (thanks Michal!). They also added some comfort features such as a water bottle holder, fan, reading rack, frame stabilizers, and more. Heart rate measurement with the Z9 is easily achieved using the pulse sensors integrated in the handlebars; at any moment during the workout you can also take a recovery test. It obviously isn't gym standard but it is by far the best home exercise bike I've ever used.
