Foods to improve sex drive in males

Banking sperm to fight male biological clock - Story William Hudson has yet to meet the future Mrs.
The species’ females manipulate their ovarian fluids to ensure their eggs are fertilized by preferred males. In petri dish tests, researchers found the female’s ovarian fluid allows the sperm of nesting males to be more successful than sneaker males.
Eggs fertilized by sneaker males will be dutifully raised by nesting males, but females want the genes of nesting males.

The Zika virus has been found in the sperm of an Italian man six months after his first symptoms, twice as long as in previously reported cases.
Doctors at the Spallanzani Institute for Infectious Diseases in Rome said it pointed to the possibility that the virus was reproducing itself in the male genital tract. The infection is suspected of leading to thousands of babies being born with underdeveloped brains.
The outbreak was declared a global public health emergency by the World Health Organisation in February.
The doctors' report suggests the potential for the sexual transmission of the virus may be greater than previously thought. Current guidelines recommend infected patients should use condoms or abstain from sex for at least six months after the onset of symptoms. The doctors said in light of this new evidence an extension of this recommendation might be advised, as well as the continued testing of semen after six months. The patient, who was in his early 40s, first presented symptoms after returning to Italy after a two-week visit to Haiti in January.
The patient reported he had received mosquito bites in Haiti, and his symptoms included fever, fatigue and a skin rash. Follow-up testing showed the Zika virus was still present in his urine, saliva and sperm, 91 days after the onset of symptoms. After 134 days it was only detectable in his sperm and this remained positive after 181 days.
Previously the longest registered symptoms remaining in the body after their onset was 93 days, found in a 27-year-old Frenchman. Some clinical trials suggest that acupuncture improves sperm motility (Dieterle 2009), increases sperm count (Siterman 2009, Siterman 2001), improves sperm quality (Pei 2005; Gurfinkel 2003) and has a beneficial effect on psychogenic erectile dysfunction (Engelhardt 2003).

Three Month Male Fertility Acupuncture ProgrammeOur three month male fertility acupuncture and sperm improvement programme is recommended because the continuous process called "spermatogenesis", by which stem cells develop into mature spermatozoa requires about 72-74 days.Six Week Male Fertility Acupuncture ProgrammeResearch shows that even an intensive six week male fertility and sperm improvement programme, consisting of two male fertility acupuncture appointments per week prior or during IVF or fertility treatment is beneficial. The London Acupuncture Space has undergone specialist post-graduate training in Male Fertility Acupuncture with Zita West and at the Royal College of Physicians in London.
New research has discovered that the fertility of dogs may have fallen sharply over the past three decades, and the findings could have implications for human reproductive health. The research, published in Scientific Reports, found that sperm quality in a population of stud dogs fell ‘significantly’ over a 26-year period. The study’s lead author, Dr Richard Lea, said: ‘While further research is needed to conclusively demonstrate a link, the dog may indeed be a sentinel for humans — it shares the same environment, exhibits the same range of diseases, many with the same frequency and responds in a similar way to therapies. This study, which followed dogs from 1988 to 2014, was based on the idea that, since dogs live among humans and experience a similar environment, they can shed light on the effects of this environment. The trend being studied was men’s declining sperm count and quality over the last 70 years, and the increase in cryptorchidism (that is, testes not dropping to the scrotum in infants), which have been linked with the rise in industrialisation and the increase in some environmental chemicals which are thought to be hormone disrupters in developing adults. The results were significant — canine sperm quality decreased steadily from around 90 per cent in terms of motility (ie, the ability to move) in 1988 to about 60 per cent in 2014.
The problem with this study is that the observations were subjective and entirely dependent on the operator behind the microscope.
The second part of the study looked at the presence of environmental chemicals in dog food, testes and semen. In summary, the study shows preliminary evidence that some environmental chemicals may have an effect on sperm quality in dogs, and by extension in humans, while having an effect on cryptorchidism too.
This study will help pave the way for future research to find more conclusive evidence explaining this worrying trend.
Researchers at UCLA say they have found an association between low physical activity and a higher risk of dementia. 16 (UPI) — Female animals have found myriad ways to select the most preferable mates. For the ocellated wrasse, that means a male who builds a nest and protects fertilized eggs. They found chemicals linked to fertility issues and birth defects in the sperm and testes of the dogs and even in their food. PCBs were once used in electrical equipment but were banned in the 1980s while phthalates have attracted controversy more recently.
Morphology, or the size and shape of the sperm, was fairly consistent, as was the total output. The chemicals observed were DEHP (diethylhexylphthalate) and PCB153 (polychlorinated bisphenol 153). What makes the findings more relevant is that the dogs with the least mobile sperm were removed to improve the quality of the study. Hudson has read the science suggesting that older men are less fertile than younger men and that when they do father a child, that child is more likely to have a whole host of health problems.
The method used by the ocellated wrasse, a small, colorful fish from the Mediterranean, is especially unusual.

If you need some more information on antisense DNA, the video below has an in-depth explanation.Messenger RNA encodes for the proteins that make up our bodies. I banked my sperm because I wanted to have the option of using younger sperm later in life.
Apparently synthetic DNA has a hard time staying stuck to the mRNA it’s opposing, and frees up the mRNA to make the defective protein.
Making the DNA stickier is not a mystery to scientists, said Shiyue Fang, a Professor of Chemistry at Michigan Technological University and senior author of the new work.
If some groups of atoms that have a partial positive charge - electrophiles - are added, the result is a stickier molecule. Not only does the ammonia neutralize the electrophiles, it gets rid of chemical linkers and protective groups. Other advantages of the new tool include low cost and improved safety, such that it will be much better for manufacturing important drugs.
A few dozen men like him have ponied up $450 a year to store their sperm at California Cryobank out of fear of advanced paternal age, according to Scott Brown, the bank's communications director. That study, of 2.6 million Swedish children, found that children of older fathers were more likely to have certain psychiatric disorders.
When the fathers were 45 and older, their children were three times more likely to have an autism spectrum disorder, 13 times more likely to have attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and 25 times more likely to have bipolar disorder than the children of fathers 20 to 24.Later, Hudson got even more steeped in the study of sperm.
He left CNN to go to Yale Law School, where he wrote an award-winning article about sperm storage for the Food and Drug Law Journal. In it, he chronicles more than half a decade's worth of research linking older sperm to health problems. According to the Mayo Clinic, studies show that the offspring of men older than 40 might face an increased risk of autism and schizophrenia as well as birth defects, such as the bone growth disorder achondroplasia. One explanation is that as sperm age, they develop more genetic mutations. Researchers in Iceland looking at 78 families found that 20-year-old fathers passed on an average of 25 mutations, but 40-year-old fathers passed on 65 mutations, an increase of two new mutations per year.
The Mayo Clinic also points out that older men have a slightly more difficult time conceiving a child. That finding is not surprising given that semen volume, sperm motility -- how well the sperm swim -- and morphology -- the percentage of sperm that are normal -- decrease with age, according to researchers at the Institute of Reproductive Medicine in Germany at the University of MA?nster.Do young single men really need to bank their sperm? But Fisch, a clinical professor of urology and reproductive medicine at Weill Cornell Medical College, said he wouldn't go so far as to tell his sons to bank their sperm if they arrived at their early 30s without any marriage prospects.
Hudson doesn't know whether he'll ever use his stored sperm; he'll figure that out with his future wife, when he meets her.
In the meantime, he said, it's nice to know it's there, waiting for him at a cryobank in New York.
