The York County CERT Training program is an interactive program that promotes emergency preparedness at the individual, family and neighborhood level. In an effort to promote this level of preparedness and volunteerism, the York County Department of Fire and Life Safety has developed the York County CERT training program.

The program helps citizens develop skills that may benefit them personally, their family and potentially their neighborhood before, during, and when recovering from a major emergency or disaster, while promoting neighborhood self-sufficiency until emergency services can arrive. Modeled after the National Citizen Corps CERT Training Program, York County's program follows the National Curriculum while offering additional courses that are specific to our topography, demographic, and hazards.
