FAQs

Being one of their biggest investments people always have a lotof questions before makingany decisions , below are a number of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a qualified roofing professional, most roofing jobs should never be carried out yourself. In addition keep in mind that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed professional performs the task. The other thing to remember is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?

It would be really good if we were able to give you a simple response to that question! However there really is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are so many different products available and each and every one has its own merits and faults. To figure out which is the right roof for you, you should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they find, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It actually depends upon the kind of roof you currently have and exactly what inspections are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on a number of days then this is going to add time to the job. A small home may take around a week or so, whereas much larger commercial jobs could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Since your roof is constantly exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is going to deteriorate over time. The speed at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a number of variables. Those include; the quality of the original materials that were used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised due to the above issues. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of taking off any protective materials that have been added to offer protection from the weather. Furthermore, you should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they may also reduce the lifespan of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will get rid of the unsightly algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.
