FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their biggest financial investments people usually have a ton of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are a few of the more common ones…

Unless you are a properly trained roofing professional, most roofing work really should not be performed yourself. In addition remember that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a certified roofing contractor carries out the task. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health for you to save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a simple answer to that question! However there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of unique products readily available and each has its own benefits and faults. To determine which is the best roof for your home, you really should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they have seen, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends on the type of roof and what inspections are needed. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on a number of days then this is going to add time to the task. A smaller home could take about a week or so, whereas more substantial industrial jobs could be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just make sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is continually subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to break down gradually. The pace at which it degrades will depend upon a variety of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial materials used along with the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the type of roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised as a result of the above variables. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any protective minerals that have been included to provide protection from the weather. Additionally, you should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can also lower the lifespan of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will remove the unpleasant algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.
