FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their biggest financial investments people usually have a ton of questions before makingany decisions , below are a number of the most common ones…
Unless you are a qualified roofing professional, most roofing jobs shouldn’t be performed yourself. Additionally keep in mind that a lot of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair will not warranty those items unless a certified roofing contractor performs the work. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?
It would be great if we could give you a simple response to that question! But there really is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are several different products readily available and each one has its own advantages and disadvantages. To figure out which is the right roof for your home, you ought to have an expert come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they discover, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the kind of roof you have and what evaluations are needed. Also, remember that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we just can’t work on particular days then this will add time to the task. A smaller home may take around a week or so, whereas larger commercial jobs might be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just ensure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Considering that your roof is constantly subjected to the weather, it means your roof is going to deteriorate with time. The speed at which it breaks down will depend on a variety of variables. Those include; the grade of the initial materials used and the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of eliminating any protective minerals that have been included to provide cover from the weather. Aside from that, you really should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can also lower the life-span of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will clear away the unattractive algae and yellowing without ruining the tile or shingles.
