FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their biggest expenditures people typically have a many questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are some of the more common ones…
Unless you’re a properly trained contractor, most roofing jobs really should not be performed yourself. Also remember that the majority of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor performs the job. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof may be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health in order to save money?
It would be fantastic if we could give you a simple response to that question! But there really is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are several different products available and each and every one will have its own benefits and disadvantages. To know which is the best roof for your home, you really should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they see, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the kind of roof you currently have and exactly what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on a number of days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A small home could take about a week or so, while larger commercial jobs may be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just be sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Considering that your roof is consistently exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is will deteriorate with time. The pace at which it deteriorates will depend upon a range of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial components used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed as a result of the above variables. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of removing any protective minerals that have been included to give protection from the weather. Also, you should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can also reduce the life of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will remove the undesirable algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About South Lebanon, OH
South Lebanon is a village located in Union and Hamilton Townships in central Warren County in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 4,115 at the 2010 census.
The first settlement at South Lebanon was made in the 1790s.[6] The village was originally called “Deerfield”[7] because it was the chief settlement of Deerfield Township, Warren County, Ohio, but renamed because of its proximity to the county seat of Lebanon. The new name of “South Lebanon” was adopted when the railroad was built through the neighborhood.[8] A post office was established under the name Deerfield Village in 1828, and the name of the post office was changed to South Lebanon in 1871.[9]

We provide trust, integrity, quality, and peace of mind. Numerous companies can give you a roof, but very few can provide you the protected feeling that we do. Dealing with a quality roof company lowers your concern and enables you to focus on your work and your family.
House owner upkeep consists of cleaning up the leaves and debris from the roof’s valleys and gutters. Particles in the valleys can cause water to wick under the shingles and trigger damage to the interior of the roofing system. Clogged up gutter can cause water to recede under the shingles on the eaves and trigger damage, despite the roof product.
The very best method to maintain your roofing system is to stay off it. Likewise, seasonal changes in the weather are usually the most harmful forces. A leaky roofing system can damage ceilings, walls and furnishings. To protect buildings and their contents from water damage, roofing contractors repair and install roofs made from tar or asphalt and gravel; rubber or thermoplastic; metal; or shingles made of asphalt, slate, fiberglass, wood, tile, or other material.
There are 2 kinds of roofing systems: flat and pitched (sloped). The majority of business, industrial and apartment have flat or slightly sloping roofs. A lot of houses have actually pitched roofings. Some roofing professionals deal with both types; others specialize. Most flat roofings are covered with several layers of products. Roofing professionals initially put a layer of insulation on the roofing deck.
Next, they set up partially overlapping layers of roof felt, a fabric filled in bitumen, over the surface area. Roofing professionals use a mop to spread hot bitumen over the surface and under the next layer. This seals the seams and makes the surface watertight. Roofing professionals duplicate these steps to develop the desired variety of layers, called plies. To use shingles, roofers first lay, cut, and tack 3-foot strips of roof felt lengthwise over the entire roofing system. Then, beginning with the bottom edge, they staple or nail overlapping rows of shingles to the roofing system. Employees measure and cut the felt and shingles to fit intersecting roofing surface areas and to fit around vent pipes and chimneys.
Lastly, roofing professionals cover exposed nailheads with roof cement or caulking to prevent water leakage. Roofing professionals who utilize tile, metal shingles or shakes follow a similar process. Some roofing contractors likewise water-proof and damp-proof masonry and concrete walls and floorings. To prepare surfaces for waterproofing, they hammer and chisel away rough areas, or remove them with a rubbing brick, prior to applying a coat of liquid waterproofing substance.
When damp-proofing, they typically spray a bitumen-based covering on interior or outside surface areas. Asphalt is the most commonly utilized roof product. Asphalt items consist of shingles, roll-roofing, built-up roof, and modified bitumen membranes. Asphalt shingles are usually the most common and economical choice for property roof. They are available in a range of colors, shapes and textures.
Laminated shingles consist of more than one layer of tabs to supply additional density. Interlocking shingles are used to provide higher wind resistance. And big private shingles typically are available in rectangular and hexagonal shapes. Roll-roofing products are normally utilized in domestic applications, mainly for underlayments and flashings. They come in 4 different types of product: smooth-surfaced, saturated felt, specialty-eaves flashings, and mineral-surfaced.
Smooth-surfaced products are used primarily as flashing to seal the roofing at crossways and protrusions, and for providing extra deck defense at the roofing system’s eaves and valleys. Saturated felt is utilized as an underlayment in between the roofing system deck and the roof material. Specialty-eaves flashings are normally used in climates where ice dams and water backups are typical.
BUR is utilized on flat and low-sloped roofing systems and includes multiple layers of bitumen and ply sheets. Elements of a BUR system include the roof deck, a vapor retarder, insulation, membrane, and emerging product. A customized bitumen-membrane assembly consists of continuous plies of saturated felts, layered felts, materials or mats between which alternate layers of bitumen are applied, either appeared or unsurfaced.
