FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their largest financial investments people usually have a lotof questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are some of the most commonplace ones…
Unless you are a certified roofing professional, most roofing work shouldn’t be performed yourself. Additionally always remember that almost all manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a certified professional performs the job. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?
It would be really good if we were able to give you a simple response to this question! However, there actually is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are many unique products available and each one has its own merits and disadvantages. To determine which is the best roof for you, you should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they see, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends upon the type of roof you currently have and exactly what evaluations are needed. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we just can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add more time to the task. A small home may take about a week or so, while larger commercial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Since your roof is always exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to degrade with time. The speed at which it degrades will depend on a range of variables. Those include; the grade of the initial materials used and the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be promised due to the above variables. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any covering materials that have been included to provide cover from the weather. In addition, you should keep away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can easily also cut down the life-span of your roof. When you speak to your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the unattractive algae and yellowing without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About South Lebanon, OH
South Lebanon is a village located in Union and Hamilton Townships in central Warren County in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 4,115 at the 2010 census.
The first settlement at South Lebanon was made in the 1790s.[6] The village was originally called “Deerfield”[7] because it was the chief settlement of Deerfield Township, Warren County, Ohio, but renamed because of its proximity to the county seat of Lebanon. The new name of “South Lebanon” was adopted when the railroad was built through the neighborhood.[8] A post office was established under the name Deerfield Village in 1828, and the name of the post office was changed to South Lebanon in 1871.[9]

House owner maintenance consists of cleaning up the leaves and debris from the roofing’s valleys and seamless gutters. Debris in the valleys can trigger water to wick under the shingles and trigger damage to the interior of the roofing system. Blocked rain gutters can trigger water to recede under the shingles on the eaves and cause damage, regardless of the roofing material.
The finest method to maintain your roofing is to remain off it. Likewise, seasonal changes in the weather condition are generally the most damaging forces. A leaking roofing can damage ceilings, walls and home furnishings. To secure buildings and their contents from water damage, roofing professionals repair work and install roofs made from tar or asphalt and gravel; rubber or thermoplastic; metal; or shingles made from asphalt, slate, fiberglass, wood, tile, or other product.
There are two types of roofing systems: flat and pitched (sloped). The majority of industrial, commercial and apartment have flat or somewhat sloping roofings. Many homes have actually pitched roofing systems. Some roofers deal with both types; others specialize. The majority of flat roofs are covered with several layers of materials. Roofers first put a layer of insulation on the roofing system deck.
Next, they set up partially overlapping layers of roof felt, a fabric saturated in bitumen, over the surface. Roofing professionals utilize a mop to spread out hot bitumen over the surface area and under the next layer. This seals the joints and makes the surface area watertight. Roofers repeat these steps to develop the desired variety of layers, called plies. To use shingles, roofing contractors initially lay, cut, and tack 3-foot strips of roof felt lengthwise over the whole roofing. Then, beginning from the bottom edge, they staple or nail overlapping rows of shingles to the roof. Workers measure and cut the felt and shingles to fit converging roof surfaces and to fit around vent pipelines and chimneys.
Finally, roofing contractors cover exposed nailheads with roof cement or caulking to avoid water leak. Roofing contractors who utilize tile, metal shingles or shakes follow a similar process. Some roofing contractors also water-proof and damp-proof masonry and concrete walls and floorings. To prepare surface areas for waterproofing, they hammer and sculpt away rough areas, or remove them with a rubbing brick, prior to using a coat of liquid waterproofing substance.
When damp-proofing, they normally spray a bitumen-based finish on interior or outside surfaces. Asphalt is the most frequently utilized roof product. Asphalt items consist of shingles, roll-roofing, built-up roofing, and customized bitumen membranes. Asphalt shingles are generally the most common and cost-effective option for property roofing. They come in a range of colors, shapes and textures.
Laminated shingles consist of more than one layer of tabs to provide extra thickness. Interlocking shingles are used to offer higher wind resistance. And large individual shingles typically come in rectangle-shaped and hexagonal shapes. Roll-roofing products are typically utilized in domestic applications, primarily for underlayments and flashings. They are available in four different kinds of product: smooth-surfaced, saturated felt, specialty-eaves flashings, and mineral-surfaced.
Smooth-surfaced products are used mostly as flashing to seal the roofing system at intersections and protrusions, and for offering additional deck security at the roof’s eaves and valleys. Saturated felt is used as an underlayment between the roofing deck and the roof product. Specialty-eaves flashings are normally utilized in climates where ice dams and water backups are typical.
BUR is utilized on flat and low-sloped roofings and includes multiple layers of bitumen and ply sheets. Elements of a BUR system consist of the roof deck, a vapor retarder, insulation, membrane, and appearing product. A customized bitumen-membrane assembly includes continuous plies of saturated felts, covered felts, materials or mats in between which alternate layers of bitumen are applied, either emerged or unsurfaced.
