FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their largest investments people always have a bunch of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are some of the most commonplace ones…
Unless you are a qualified roofing professional, most roofing work really should not be carried out yourself. In addition bear in mind that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those items unless a certified roofing contractor carries out the job. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?
It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a straight forward answer to this question! But there actually is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each and every one will have its own merits and disadvantages. To figure out which is the best roof for you, you should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they observe, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends upon the kind of roof you currently have and what surveys are needed. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on particular days then this will definitely add time to the job. A small home could take about a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial projects might be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just be sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Given that your roof is continually exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will deteriorate gradually. The speed at which it degrades will depend upon a variety of factors. These include; the quality of the initial materials used and the workmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the style of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised as a result of the above factors. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any protective materials that have been added to offer shielding from the weather. Additionally, you should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they could also lower the lifespan of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will clear away the unsightly algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.
