FAQs

Being one of their most significant expenditures people always have a lotof questions before coming to a conclusion , below are a few of the more common ones…

Unless you are a properly trained contractor, the majority of roofing work should not be undertaken yourself. In addition bear in mind that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed professional performs the work. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very dangerous, so is it really worth risking your health in order to save money?

It would be great if we could give you a simple answer to that question! However, there actually is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of different products available and each and every one will have its own advantages and faults. To figure out which is the right roof for your home, you really should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they see, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends on the kind of roof and exactly what evaluations are required. Also, remember that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on a number of days then this will definitely add time to the task. A small home may take about a week or so, while much larger commercial jobs might be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Since your roof is consistently exposed to the weather, it means your roof is going to break down gradually. The pace at which it degrades will be dependent on a number of variables. Those include; the grade of the original components used as well as the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the type of roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be promised as a result of the above factors. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any protective minerals that have been added to give protection from the weather. Also, you really should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also lower the lifespan of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will remove the unpleasant algae and yellowing without ruining the tile or shingles.
