FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their most significant expenditures people usually have a ton of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are some of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you are a properly trained contractor, the majority of roofing tasks shouldn’t be performed yourself. Additionally always remember that most manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed professional performs the job. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health in order to save money?
It would be fantastic if we could give you a straight forward response to that question! However, there actually is no single answer that fits all for every question like that. There are so many unique products readily available and each one will have its own advantages and disadvantages. To know which is the ideal roof for you, you should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they observe, the type of roof you have, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely depends upon the kind of roof and exactly what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on certain days then this will definitely add time to the task. A small home may take about a week or so, whereas more substantial industrial projects could be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Considering that your roof is continuously exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will break down gradually. The speed at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a range of variables. These include; the quality of the original materials that were used as well as the workmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above issues. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any covering materials that have been included to provide cover from the elements. On top of that, you should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also diminish the life-span of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will clear away the unpleasant algae and staining without destroying the tile or shingles.
