FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As one of their most significant financial investments people typically have a ton of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are a few of the most commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a qualified roofing professional, the majority of roofing jobs really should not be undertaken yourself. Also bear in mind that most manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a licensed professional carries out the work. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health for you to save money?

It would be great if we could give you a straight forward answer to this question! But there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are several different products available and each one will have its own advantages and disadvantages. To know which is the best roof for you, you should have a professional come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they have seen, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It actually is dependent on the kind of roof and what evaluations are mandated. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on certain days then this will certainly add time to the job. A small home could take about a week or so, whereas larger commercial jobs might be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is constantly exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is going to deteriorate over time. The pace at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a number of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial materials used as well as the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised due to the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of washing away any covering materials that have been added to offer cover from the elements. Additionally, you should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they may also decrease the life-span of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the unsightly algae and yellowing without damaging the tile or shingles.

Naturally, with time the roof begins to damage from continued weather condition battering. A structurally sound roof does not collapse all at once but rather falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roof examinations discover these weak points early before they spread and trigger extreme damage to part or the entire roofing.

Roofing system assessments at routine periods root out roofing system problems before they can even manifest themselves; extending the life expectancy of your roof. Many property owners just take notice of their roofing systems when there is noticeable damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Reality is, with routine inspection such problems are usually evaded.

Roofing examinations save you both money and time and are one of the most basic roofing system upkeep practices. There are a number of factors that can cause a roof’s condition to weaken with time.
