FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their largest investments people usually have a ton of questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are a few of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you’re a trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing jobs should never be carried out yourself. In addition keep in mind that a large number of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a licensed professional carries out the task. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?
It would be really good if we were able to give you a straight forward response to that question! But there actually is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are many different products available and each has its own merits and disadvantages. To know which is the right roof for your home, you really should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they observe, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It really is dependent on the kind of roof you have and what inspections are required. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on a number of days then this will add more time to the task. A smaller home might take around a week or so, while much larger commercial projects might be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just ensure that your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Since your roof is always exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is going to break down gradually. The pace at which it degrades will depend upon a number of variables. Those include; the grade of the original components used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the style of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed as a result of the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any protective materials that have been included to offer cover from the weather. On top of that, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can easily also decrease the life of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will get rid of the undesirable algae and staining without destroying the tile or shingles.

More About Mounds, OK
Mounds is a village in Creek County, Oklahoma, United States. It is located just south of Tulsa; the town’s population was 1,168 at the 2010 census, an increase of 1.3 percent from 1,153 at the 2000 census.[5]
The post office for this community was established in 1895 and originally named “Posey”, for the Creek poet Alexander Posey, who lived in Eufaula, Oklahoma. In 1898, the town was moved 5 miles (8 km) southwest and renamed “Mounds” for twin hills that were nearby. By 1901, the St. Louis, Oklahoma and Southern Railway (later the St. Louis and San Francisco Railway) built a track through Mounds, and the town became an important cattle shipping point. Mounds incorporated as a city in the same year. The discovery of oil in the Glenn Pool field in 1905 turned Mounds into a shipping point for crude oil instead of cattle.[6]

We provide trust, stability, quality, and peace of mind. Many companies can give you a roofing, but very few can provide you the safe feeling that we do. Dealing with a quality roofing business minimizes your concern and allows you to focus on your work and your household.
Property owner maintenance includes cleaning up the leaves and particles from the roofing’s valleys and seamless gutters. Debris in the valleys can cause water to wick under the shingles and cause damage to the interior of the roofing. Stopped up gutter can trigger water to recede under the shingles on the eaves and cause damage, despite the roof product.
The best way to maintain your roofing system is to stay off it. Also, seasonal modifications in the weather condition are usually the most damaging forces. A leaky roofing system can harm ceilings, walls and home furnishings. To protect buildings and their contents from water damage, roofing contractors repair and set up roofings made from tar or asphalt and gravel; rubber or thermoplastic; metal; or shingles made from asphalt, slate, fiberglass, wood, tile, or other material.
There are 2 kinds of roofing systems: flat and pitched (sloped). Most industrial, commercial and apartment have flat or somewhat sloping roofs. Many homes have actually pitched roofing systems. Some roofers deal with both types; others specialize. Many flat roofings are covered with a number of layers of materials. Roofers initially put a layer of insulation on the roofing system deck.
Next, they set up partly overlapping layers of roof felt, a fabric filled in bitumen, over the surface area. Roofers utilize a mop to spread hot bitumen over the surface area and under the next layer. This seals the joints and makes the surface watertight. Roofers repeat these actions to develop up the desired variety of layers, called plies. To use shingles, roofers initially lay, cut, and tack 3-foot strips of roofing felt lengthwise over the entire roof. Then, beginning with the bottom edge, they staple or nail overlapping rows of shingles to the roofing. Workers procedure and cut the felt and shingles to fit intersecting roof surfaces and to fit around vent pipes and chimneys.
Lastly, roofing professionals cover exposed nailheads with roof cement or caulking to avoid water leak. Roofing contractors who use tile, metal shingles or shakes follow a similar process. Some roofing professionals also water-proof and damp-proof masonry and concrete walls and floorings. To prepare surfaces for waterproofing, they hammer and sculpt away rough spots, or remove them with a rubbing brick, before using a coat of liquid waterproofing substance.
When damp-proofing, they normally spray a bitumen-based finishing on interior or outside surfaces. Asphalt is the most frequently utilized roofing product. Asphalt products include shingles, roll-roofing, built-up roofing, and modified bitumen membranes. Asphalt shingles are generally the most typical and cost-effective option for property roofing. They can be found in a variety of colors, shapes and textures.
Laminated shingles consist of more than one layer of tabs to provide additional density. Interlocking shingles are used to supply greater wind resistance. And big private shingles normally can be found in rectangle-shaped and hexagonal shapes. Roll-roofing products are generally utilized in property applications, mainly for underlayments and flashings. They can be found in four different kinds of product: smooth-surfaced, saturated felt, specialty-eaves flashings, and mineral-surfaced.
Smooth-surfaced items are utilized mostly as flashing to seal the roof at intersections and protrusions, and for supplying extra deck security at the roofing system’s eaves and valleys. Saturated felt is utilized as an underlayment in between the roofing deck and the roof product. Specialty-eaves flashings are normally used in environments where ice dams and water backups are common.
BUR is utilized on flat and low-sloped roofs and includes numerous layers of bitumen and ply sheets. Components of a BUR system consist of the roofing system deck, a vapor retarder, insulation, membrane, and emerging product. A modified bitumen-membrane assembly consists of continuous plies of saturated felts, coated felts, fabrics or mats between which alternate layers of bitumen are used, either emerged or unsurfaced.
