FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As one of their biggest financial investments people typically have a bunch of questions before coming to a conclusion , below are a few of the most common ones…

Unless you are a properly trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing tasks should not be undertaken yourself. Also keep in mind that the majority of manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair won’t warranty those items unless a certified roofing contractor performs the job. Something else to remember is that working on a roof could be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?

It would be really good if we were able to give you a simple answer to that question! But there really is no single answer that fits all for every question like that. There are many different products readily available and each and every one will have its own merits and faults. To figure out which is the right roof for your home, you should have a professional come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they observe, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends on the kind of roof you currently have and exactly what evaluations are required. Also, remember that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on a number of days then this is going to add time to the job. A small home could take around a week or so, while larger commercial jobs could be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is continuously subjected to the weather, this means your roof is going to diminish over time. The rate at which it deteriorates will depend upon a variety of factors. Those include; the quality of the original materials used along with the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed due to the above issues. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of taking off any covering materials that have been included to give protection from the weather. Additionally, you should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they may also cut down the lifespan of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will eliminate the unsightly algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.

More About Balm, FL

Balm is an unincorporated census-designated place in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. The population was 1,457 at the 2010 census.[1]

A post office was established here in 1902 and called “Doric”; it was renamed the next month to “Balm”.[3] The community was so named on account of their “balmy” air.[4] Prior to 1902, the Seaboard Air Line Railway established Balm as a flag stop. The railroad built a one-room station and water tank. This made Balm a focal point, and a small community including a blacksmith, sawmills, a teacher, and a general store sprang up by 1911. In 1937, electricity arrived, soon followed by a community telephone, set up in a barn for all to use. By 1945 the area had a population of over a thousand.[5]

Some roof leaks are tough to find. Sometimes the water reveals up at a ceiling spot remote from the leakage. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier in between the drywall and the attic insulation, press the insulation aside and try to find circulation discolorations on the plastic. Typically water runs to openings in the vapor barrier, such as at ceiling light.

Wetness that leaves into the cold attic from the rooms below often condenses on cold nails. Sometimes you can find this if you climb into your attic on a cold night. The nails will look white because they’re frosted. When the attic warms up a bit during the day, the frost melts and drips, then the nails frost up in the evening once again and so on.
