FAQs

As one of their largest expenditures people typically have a many questions prior to coming to a conclusion , below are a number of the most commonplace ones…

Unless you are a certified roofing professional, most roofing tasks really should not be carried out yourself. Additionally remember that almost all manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor performs the job. The other thing to remember is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth risking your health so you can save money?

It would be great if we could give you a straight forward response to that question! However, there actually is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are plenty of different products readily available and each one will have its own merits and faults. To determine which is the ideal roof for you, you really should have a contractor come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they see, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends on the type of roof you currently have and what inspections are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on certain days then this will certainly add time to the job. A small home may take around a week or so, while larger commercial projects can be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just make certain your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Because your roof is continuously exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to deteriorate over time. The rate at which it deteriorates will depend upon a variety of factors. These include; the quality of the original materials used and the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed as a result of the above variables. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any protective minerals that have been added to provide protection from the elements. Furthermore, you really should keep away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also lower the lifespan of your roof. When you speak to your roof cleaning specialist, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will remove the unpleasant algae and yellowing without ruining the tile or shingles.

More About Lutz, FL

Lutz /ˈluːts/ is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It is fifteen miles north of Tampa. The northern part of Lutz also makes up a portion of south Pasco County. The population was 19,344 at the 2010 census.[3]

Lutz began with the construction of a small train depot on the Tampa Northern Railroad. The area surrounding the depot officially became known as “Lutz” when the U.S. Postal Service authorized a post office. The community was named for W. P. Some roofing leaks are hard to locate. Often the water appears at a ceiling area distant from the leak. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier between the drywall and the attic insulation, press the insulation aside and search for circulation spots on the plastic. Often water goes to openings in the vapor barrier, such as at ceiling light fixtures.

Moisture that escapes into the cold attic from the rooms below frequently condenses on cold nails. In some cases you can spot this if you climb up into your attic on a cold night. The nails will look white since they’re frosted. When the attic heats up a bit during the day, the frost melts and drips, then the nails frost up at night once again and so on.
