FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their largest expenditures people usually have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are some of the more common ones…

Unless you’re a qualified contractor, the majority of roofing jobs really should not be performed yourself. In addition bear in mind that most manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a certified professional carries out the job. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health so you can save money?

It would be fantastic if we could give you a simple response to that question! However, there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are so many unique products available and each and every one will have its own advantages and disadvantages. To know which is the best roof for your home, you should have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they have seen, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It actually is dependent on the kind of roof and what surveys are mandated. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on certain days then this will add time to the task. A smaller home could take about a week or so, while more substantial industrial jobs might be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just be sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is consistently exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is going to deteriorate over time. The speed at which it breaks down will depend upon a range of factors. These include; the grade of the initial materials used along with the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of removing any covering materials that have been included to give protection from the elements. Furthermore, you really should keep away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can easily also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will clear away the ugly algae and discoloration without ruining the tile or shingles.

More About Lutz, FL

Lutz /ˈluːts/ is an unincorporated census-designated place (CDP) in Hillsborough County, Florida, United States. It is fifteen miles north of Tampa. The northern part of Lutz also makes up a portion of south Pasco County. The population was 19,344 at the 2010 census.[3]

Some roofing system leakages are difficult to locate. Sometimes the water reveals up at a ceiling spot remote from the leak. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier between the drywall and the attic insulation, push the insulation aside and search for flow discolorations on the plastic. Typically water goes to openings in the vapor barrier, such as at ceiling light.

Wetness that escapes into the cold attic from the spaces below typically condenses on cold nails. In some cases you can spot this if you go up into your attic on a cold night. The nails will look white since they’re frosted. When the attic heats up a bit during the day, the frost melts and drips, then the nails frost up at night again and so on.
