FAQs
As one of their largest financial investments people always have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are a few of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you’re a qualified contractor, the majority of roofing work shouldn’t be undertaken yourself. Additionally bear in mind that almost all manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a licensed professional performs the job. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof can be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?
It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a simple answer to this question! However there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are several unique products readily available and each and every one has its own benefits and faults. To figure out which is the best roof for you, you should have a contractor come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they observe, the type of roof you have, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends on the type of roof you currently have and what surveys are needed. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we just can’t work on certain days then this will add more time to the job. A smaller home may take about a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial projects may be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just make sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Given that your roof is continuously subjected to the weather, this means your roof is going to degrade over time. The rate at which it degrades will depend upon a range of factors. These include; the quality of the initial materials that were used and the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above variables. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any protective materials that have been added to give cover from the weather. On top of that, you should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they could also diminish the life of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will get rid of the ugly algae and yellowing without destroying the tile or shingles.
