FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their most significant financial investments people typically have a many questions prior to makingany decisions , below are a number of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you are a properly trained roofing professional, most roofing tasks should never be performed yourself. Also remember that most manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those items unless a licensed professional performs the job. The other thing to always remember is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?
It would be great if we were able to give you a straight forward answer to that question! However there actually is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are several different products readily available and each one has its own advantages and faults. To determine which is the ideal roof for you, you really should have a contractor come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they see, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely is dependent on the kind of roof and what surveys are required. Also, remember that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we just can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add time to the job. A smaller home might take around a week or so, whereas larger industrial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just be sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Since your roof is consistently subjected to the weather, it means your roof is going to diminish with time. The speed at which it degrades will depend on a number of variables. Those include; the grade of the initial components that were used and the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be promised due to the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any covering materials that have been added to offer shielding from the weather. Additionally, you should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they could also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will remove the undesirable algae and yellowing without damaging the tile or shingles.
