FAQs
Being one of their biggest financial investments people usually have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , below are a number of the most common ones…
Unless you’re a properly trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing jobs should not be carried out yourself. Also always remember that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a certified professional performs the work. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof is going to be very dangerous, so is it really worth risking your health for you to save money?
It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a straight forward answer to that question! However there actually is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are a lot of unique products available and each one has its own benefits and faults. To know which is the best roof for your home, you really should have an expert come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they find, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely depends upon the kind of roof you currently have and what surveys are needed. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on certain days then this will add time to the task. A small home might take about a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial jobs can be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Given that your roof is always subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to diminish gradually. The rate at which it deteriorates will depend on a variety of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial materials used and the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the style of the roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised due to the above issues. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of washing away any protective materials that have been included to provide cover from the elements. Furthermore, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they may also reduce the life-span of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will clear away the ugly algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.
