FAQs

As one of their biggest financial investments people usually have a ton of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , below are a few of the more common ones…

Unless you’re a trained contractor, most roofing tasks shouldn’t be performed yourself. Also keep in mind that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the task. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?

It would be fantastic if we could give you a straight forward answer to this question! However, there really is no one answer that fits all for every question like that. There are plenty of unique products readily available and each has its own benefits and faults. To figure out which is the best roof for your home, you really should have a contractor come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they find, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It actually depends on the kind of roof you have and what surveys are mandated. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on a number of days then this is going to add time to the job. A smaller home could take about a week or so, whereas larger commercial jobs may be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just be sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is continually subjected to the weather, it means your roof is going to diminish over time. The pace at which it breaks down will depend on a range of variables. These include; the grade of the initial materials that were used along with the workmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any covering materials that have been included to provide cover from the weather. On top of that, you should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can also cut down the life-span of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will eliminate the ugly algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.

Naturally, in time the roofing system begins to weaken from continued weather damaging. A structurally sound roofing does not fall apart at one time but rather falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roof inspections identify these vulnerable points early prior to they spread out and cause extreme damage to part or the whole roof.

Roofing evaluations at regular periods root out roof issues prior to they can even manifest themselves; extending the life-span of your roofing. Most property owners only take note of their roofings when there is obvious damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Fact is, with regular evaluation such issues are normally averted.

Roofing system inspections save you both cash and time and are among one of the most basic roofing system maintenance practices. There are a number of elements that can cause a roofing system’s condition to deteriorate with time. These are the effects homeowners are least aware of due to the fact that the indications are subtle and take time to show.: Weather condition components are the main reason for roofing system damage.

The weather slowly wears away and deteriorates the roof material, and put strain onto the roofing structure. Poor or absence of roofing upkeep practices such as cleansing, painting, mold removal and snow scraping add to the wearing down of the roofing. Not all roof professionals are as excellent as promoted. Due to lack of ability or just neglect, a roof is poorly installed, impacting its effectiveness as a roofing system and its durability to damage.
