FAQs

As one of their most significant investments people usually have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , below are a number of the more common ones…

Unless you are a certified contractor, the majority of roofing jobs really should not be undertaken yourself. In addition bear in mind that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a certified professional carries out the task. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof may be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health for you to save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a simple response to this question! However, there really is no single answer that fits all for every question like that. There are several unique products available and each and every one has its own advantages and faults. To figure out which is the right roof for you, you should have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they discover, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends on the type of roof and what evaluations are required. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we just can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add time to the task. A smaller home may take about a week or so, while much larger commercial projects can be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Given that your roof is continually exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is will break down with time. The pace at which it breaks down will depend on a range of variables. Those include; the quality of the original components used and the workmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised as a result of the above variables. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any protective minerals that have been added to provide shielding from the elements. In addition, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they may also cut down the life of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the aesthetically displeasing algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.
