FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their biggest expenditures people always have a many questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are a few of the more common ones…

Unless you’re a qualified roofing professional, most roofing jobs should never be performed yourself. Additionally bear in mind that almost all manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor performs the task. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?

It would be fantastic if we could give you a straight forward response to this question! But there actually is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are so many unique products available and each has its own merits and faults. To determine which is the best roof for you, you should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they have seen, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends on the kind of roof and what inspections are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on a number of days then this will add more time to the task. A small home may take around a week or so, whereas much larger industrial projects can be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just be sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Given that your roof is constantly exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to deteriorate over time. The pace at which it breaks down will depend on a variety of variables. Those include; the quality of the initial components that were used and the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed due to the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of washing away any covering minerals that have been added to offer cover from the weather. Additionally, you should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they could also lower the life-span of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will get rid of the unappealing algae and staining without destroying the tile or shingles.

Naturally, over time the roofing system begins to compromise from continued weather damaging. A structurally sound roofing does not crumble all at once but rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing inspections detect these weak points early prior to they spread and trigger severe damage to part or the entire roof.

Roof evaluations at routine intervals root out roofing issues prior to they can even manifest themselves; extending the lifespan of your roofing. Many house owners only take notice of their roofing systems when there is noticeable damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Fact is, with routine examination such problems are normally averted.

Roofing assessments save you both cash and time and are among one of the most standard roofing system maintenance practices.
