FAQs
As one of their largest investments people typically have a number of questions prior to makingany decisions , listed here are a number of the more common ones…
Unless you’re a qualified roofing professional, most roofing tasks shouldn’t be carried out yourself. Additionally bear in mind that a lot of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a licensed professional carries out the work. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof can be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?
It would be really good if we were able to give you a simple answer to this question! However there actually is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are several unique products available and each will have its own merits and faults. To determine which is the best roof for you, you really should have a contractor come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they find, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends upon the type of roof you currently have and exactly what surveys are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on a number of days then this will certainly add time to the task. A small home may take about a week or so, whereas more substantial industrial jobs can be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Considering that your roof is continually subjected to the outside elements, this means your roof is going to diminish over time. The rate at which it breaks down will depend upon a variety of factors. Those include; the grade of the original materials used along with the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the style of the roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above variables. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any protective minerals that have been included to offer shielding from the elements. In addition, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can also diminish the life-span of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will clear away the ugly algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.
