FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their most significant expenditures people usually have a many questions before makingany decisions , listed here are a few of the more common ones…
Unless you’re a trained contractor, most roofing tasks shouldn’t be performed yourself. Also always remember that most manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those items unless a certified roofing contractor performs the work. Something else to remember is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health for you to save money?
It would be great if we could give you a straight forward response to that question! But there really is no single answer that fits all for every question like that. There are plenty of different products readily available and each one will have its own advantages and disadvantages. To figure out which is the best roof for you, you really should have a contractor come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they have seen, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely depends on the type of roof you currently have and exactly what evaluations are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we just can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add more time to the task. A small home could take about a week or so, while more substantial industrial projects may be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just ensure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Because your roof is continuously exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is will degrade gradually. The pace at which it degrades will be dependent on a number of variables. These include; the grade of the original components that were used along with the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above variables. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should not ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any covering materials that have been added to offer shielding from the weather. Also, you really should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they could also reduce the lifespan of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will get rid of the undesirable algae and yellowing without destroying the tile or shingles.

Learn More Think of the roof as the house’s first line of defense versus all the weather components. Naturally, gradually the roofing system starts to weaken from continued weather damaging. A structurally sound roofing system does not crumble simultaneously but rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing system assessments detect these weak points early prior to they spread out and trigger extreme damage to part or the entire roofing system.
Roofing system examinations at regular periods root out roof problems prior to they can even manifest themselves; extending the lifespan of your roof. Most property owners only focus on their roofings when there is obvious damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Fact is, with regular examination such problems are normally averted.

Roofing system examinations save you both cash and time and are one of one of the most fundamental roof maintenance practices. There are a number of elements that can trigger a roofing system’s condition to deteriorate with time. These are the results house owners are least familiar with because the indications are subtle and require time to show.: Weather elements are the main reason for roof damage.
The weather slowly corrodes and wears down the roofing product, and put stress onto the roof structure. Poor or absence of roofing system maintenance practices such as cleaning, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping contribute to the wearing down of the roofing. Not all roof specialists are as good as advertised. Due to lack of skill or just neglect, a roofing system is incorrectly installed, impacting its efficiency as a roofing system and its resilience to damage.
