FAQs

Being one of their most significant investments people usually have a ton of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are a number of the more common ones…

Unless you’re a properly trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing tasks really should not be performed yourself. Also bear in mind that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a certified professional performs the work. The other thing to remember is that working on a roof may be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health so you can save money?

It would be great if we could give you a simple response to this question! However, there really is no one answer fits all for every question like that. There are several unique products readily available and each one has its own merits and faults. To know which is the right roof for your home, you ought to have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they discover, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely is dependent on the kind of roof and what inspections are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on certain days then this will certainly add more time to the job. A smaller home could take about a week or so, while larger commercial projects can be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just see to it your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Because your roof is always exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to deteriorate gradually. The speed at which it breaks down will depend on a range of factors. These include; the quality of the initial components used as well as the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed because of the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of getting rid of any covering materials that have been added to offer shielding from the elements. Aside from that, you really should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they could also cut down the life-span of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will eliminate the unsightly algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.

Naturally, gradually the roofing begins to damage from continued weather condition battering. A structurally sound roofing does not fall apart all at once but rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing evaluations detect these vulnerable points early prior to they spread out and cause severe damage to part or the whole roofing.

Roofing system inspections at routine intervals root out roof problems prior to they can even manifest themselves; extending the life-span of your roofing system. A lot of homeowners just take notice of their roofings when there is visible damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Fact is, with regular examination such issues are generally averted.
