FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As one of their most significant investments people typically have a plenty of questions before coming to a conclusion , below are some of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a properly trained contractor, most roofing tasks should never be carried out yourself. Also keep in mind that almost all manufacturers of products used in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the task. Something else to bear in mind is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?

It would be really good if we were able to give you a simple response to that question! However, there really is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are so many different products available and each and every one has its own advantages and faults. To determine which is the best roof for your home, you ought to have a contractor come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they see, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends on the type of roof and exactly what inspections are needed. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on particular days then this will add more time to the task. A smaller home may take around a week or so, while more substantial industrial jobs might be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just be sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Since your roof is constantly exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will degrade with time. The speed at which it breaks down will depend on a range of variables. Those include; the grade of the original materials used along with the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be promised as a result of the above variables. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any protective minerals that have been added to give protection from the weather. In addition, you really should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can easily also decrease the life of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will clear away the unappealing algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Clarksville, IN

Clarksville is a town in Clark County, Indiana, United States, along the Ohio River and is a part of the Louisville Metropolitan area. The population was 21,724 at the 2010 census. The town was founded in 1783 by early resident George Rogers Clark[6] at the only seasonal rapids on the entire Ohio River, it is the oldest American town in the former Northwest Territory. The town is home to the Colgate clock, one of the largest clocks in the world and the Falls of the Ohio State Park, home to the world’s largest exposed Devonian period fossil bed.

The site that would become Clarksville was first used as a base of operations by George Rogers Clark during the American Revolution. In 1778 he established a post on an island at the head of the Falls of the Ohio, from which he trained his 175-man regiment for the defense to the west. After the war, Clark was granted a tract of 150,000 acres (610 km2) for his services in the war. In 1783, 1,000 acres (4 km2) were set aside for the development of a town, Clarksville. The same year a stockade was built and settlement began.[7]

Some roofing system leaks are difficult to locate. Often the water reveals up at a ceiling area remote from the leak. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier between the drywall and the attic insulation, press the insulation aside and search for circulation spots on the plastic. Frequently water goes to openings in the vapor barrier, such as at ceiling lighting fixture.

Wetness that gets away into the cold attic from the rooms below typically condenses on cold nails. In some cases you can identify this if you go up into your attic on a cold night. The nails will look white since they’re frosted. When the attic warms up a bit during the day, the frost melts and drips, then the nails frost up in the evening once again and so on.
