FAQs

As one of their largest financial investments people always have a ton of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are a few of the more common ones…

Unless you’re a properly trained contractor, most roofing tasks shouldn’t be carried out yourself. In addition keep in mind that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a certified professional performs the job. The other thing to always remember is that working on a roof may be very hazardous, so is it really worth risking your health in order to save money?

It would be great if we could give you a simple answer to that question! However, there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of different products available and each and every one will have its own merits and faults. To know which is the best roof for your home, you should have an expert come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they see, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely is dependent on the type of roof you currently have and what inspections are mandated. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on a number of days then this will add more time to the job. A smaller home may take about a week or so, while larger commercial jobs might be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just make certain your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Because your roof is continuously exposed to the weather, this means your roof is going to diminish with time. The rate at which it degrades will depend upon a range of factors. These include; the grade of the initial materials that were used along with the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed due to the above variables. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any protective minerals that have been added to offer protection from the elements. Additionally, you should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they could also cut down the lifespan of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will remove the unpleasant algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.

More About Minnetonka Beach, MN

Minnetonka Beach is a city in Hennepin County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 539 at the 2010 census.[7]

Originally part of Excelsior Township, Minnetonka Beach was the site of the Hotel Lafeyette, which was built by the Minneapolis, Saint Paul, & Manitoba Railway (later part of the Great Northern Railway) in 1882. In 1884, Minnetonka Beach was annexed by Medina Township. The community was incorporated as an independent village in 1894.[8]

Some roofing system leakages are difficult to find. Often the water shows up at a ceiling area distant from the leakage. If your ceiling has a plastic vapor barrier in between the drywall and the attic insulation, press the insulation aside and look for circulation spots on the plastic. Typically water goes to openings in the vapor barrier, such as at ceiling light fixtures.

Wetness that gets away into the cold attic from the spaces below frequently condenses on cold nails. In some cases you can identify this if you go up into your attic on a cold night. The nails will look white because they’re frosted. When the attic warms up a bit throughout the day, the frost melts and leaks, then the nails frost up in the evening once again and so on.
