FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their largest investments people always have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are some of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a certified roofing professional, the majority of roofing tasks should not be undertaken yourself. In addition always remember that most manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those items unless a licensed professional performs the job. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very hazardous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health for you to save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a simple answer to that question! But there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of unique products available and each and every one will have its own advantages and faults. To determine which is the ideal roof for you, you should have an expert come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they have seen, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really is dependent on the type of roof and what evaluations are mandated. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on particular days then this will certainly add time to the task. A small home may take about a week or so, while larger industrial jobs may be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just make certain your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Considering that your roof is always subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to diminish gradually. The rate at which it deteriorates will depend on a variety of factors. Those include; the grade of the original components that were used and the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be promised due to the above issues. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of washing away any protective materials that have been included to provide protection from the weather. On top of that, you should keep away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they may also reduce the lifespan of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will get rid of the unpleasant algae and yellowing without damaging the tile or shingles.
