FAQs

Being one of their largest investments people usually have a many questions prior to coming to a conclusion , listed here are a number of the most commonplace ones…

Unless you are a qualified roofing professional, the majority of roofing tasks shouldn’t be performed yourself. Also keep in mind that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor performs the task. Something else to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?

It would be fantastic if we could give you a simple response to this question! But there really is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are many unique products readily available and each one has its own advantages and faults. To know which is the best roof for your home, you really should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they observe, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It actually depends upon the kind of roof you have and exactly what evaluations are required. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on particular days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A smaller home may take around a week or so, whereas more substantial industrial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just make sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is continually exposed to the weather, this means your roof is will break down with time. The rate at which it degrades will depend upon a range of variables. These include; the grade of the initial materials that were used along with the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be promised because of the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of eliminating any protective materials that have been included to give cover from the elements. Furthermore, you should keep away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they can easily also decrease the lifespan of your roof. When you speak to your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will get rid of the undesirable algae and yellowing without destroying the tile or shingles.

Naturally, gradually the roofing system begins to weaken from continued weather damaging. A structurally sound roofing system does not crumble at one time but instead breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing examinations identify these vulnerable points early prior to they spread and trigger severe damage to part or the entire roofing system.

Roof inspections at regular periods root out roofing problems prior to they can even manifest themselves; extending the life expectancy of your roofing system.
