FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their biggest expenditures people always have a number of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , listed here are a few of the most commonplace ones…
Unless you are a trained roofing professional, most roofing work shouldn’t be carried out yourself. In addition remember that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair will not warranty those items unless a certified professional carries out the job. The other thing to remember is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?
It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a simple answer to that question! However, there really is no one answer that fits all for every question like that. There are so many different products readily available and each one will have its own merits and faults. To know which is the right roof for you, you should have a professional come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they have seen, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the type of roof and exactly what evaluations are mandated. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on certain days then this will add more time to the task. A smaller home could take about a week or so, whereas larger industrial projects might be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Since your roof is always exposed to the weather, it means your roof is going to degrade over time. The speed at which it degrades will depend upon a number of factors. These include; the grade of the initial components that were used and the workmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing companies will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should not ever pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of taking off any covering minerals that have been included to offer shielding from the weather. On top of that, you really should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they may also diminish the life of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will clear away the undesirable algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.

Naturally, over time the roofing starts to deteriorate from continued weather condition battering. A structurally sound roof does not crumble simultaneously however rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roof evaluations discover these weak points early before they spread out and trigger serious damage to part or the entire roofing system.
Roofing inspections at routine intervals root out roof problems prior to they can even manifest themselves; extending the life-span of your roofing system. Many property owners just take notice of their roofings when there is noticeable damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Truth is, with routine evaluation such problems are normally evaded.
Roofing inspections conserve you both money and time and are one of one of the most standard roofing upkeep practices. There are several factors that can cause a roofing’s condition to degrade with time. These are the results property owners are least familiar with due to the fact that the indications are subtle and take some time to show.: Weather condition components are the main reason for roofing system damage.
The weather condition slowly corrodes and erodes the roof material, and put strain onto the roofing system structure. Poor or absence of roofing system upkeep practices such as cleaning, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping contribute to the wearing down of the roofing system.
