FAQs

Being one of their most significant investments people typically have a plenty of questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are some of the most common ones…

Unless you are a qualified roofing professional, most roofing tasks should not be performed yourself. Also always remember that most manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a certified roofing contractor performs the work. The other thing to always remember is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health so you can save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a simple answer to this question! However, there actually is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each and every one will have its own merits and faults. To determine which is the right roof for you, you should have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they have seen, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends upon the kind of roof you have and exactly what inspections are required. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we just can’t work on particular days then this will add time to the task. A small home might take around a week or so, whereas larger commercial projects might be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Since your roof is continually exposed to the weather, this means your roof is going to deteriorate with time. The pace at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a number of variables. These include; the quality of the initial materials used along with the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed as a result of the above variables. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any covering minerals that have been added to offer cover from the weather. Additionally, you really should try to stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also lower the lifespan of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will get rid of the unappealing algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.
