FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their biggest financial investments people typically have a many questions prior to coming to a conclusion , listed here are a few of the most common ones…
Unless you are a qualified contractor, most roofing work shouldn’t be performed yourself. In addition remember that a large number of manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the work. Something else to remember is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?
It would be fantastic if we could give you a straight forward response to this question! But there actually is no one answer fits all for every question like that. There are plenty of unique products readily available and each will have its own merits and faults. To know which is the right roof for your home, you ought to have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they find, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends on the type of roof and exactly what evaluations are required. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on particular days then this will certainly add more time to the task. A smaller home might take about a week or so, whereas larger industrial jobs could be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just ensure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Considering that your roof is constantly subjected to the outside elements, this means your roof is will deteriorate over time. The speed at which it degrades will be dependent on a variety of variables. These include; the grade of the initial components used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any protective minerals that have been included to offer shielding from the weather. On top of that, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they can easily also diminish the life of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will eliminate the ugly algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.
