FAQs
As one of their biggest investments people typically have a plenty of questions before coming to a conclusion , below are a number of the most commonplace ones…
Unless you are a certified roofing professional, the majority of roofing work should never be carried out yourself. Additionally keep in mind that a large number of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a licensed professional carries out the task. The other thing to always remember is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health in order to save money?
It would be really good if we could give you a simple answer to this question! However there really is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each and every one has its own advantages and faults. To determine which is the right roof for your home, you really should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they see, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely depends on the type of roof and what evaluations are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on certain days then this is going to add time to the job. A smaller home might take around a week or so, whereas much larger commercial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Considering that your roof is continually exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will deteriorate with time. The pace at which it degrades will be dependent on a number of factors. These include; the grade of the original components used along with the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing companies will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised due to the above variables. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you take the risk of removing any protective minerals that have been added to offer shielding from the elements. Aside from that, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they may also decrease the life of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the aesthetically displeasing algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.
