FAQs

As one of their biggest expenditures people usually have a number of questions before makingany decisions , below are a few of the most common ones…

Unless you’re a trained roofing professional, most roofing work should not be performed yourself. Also bear in mind that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed professional carries out the work. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof can be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?

It would be great if we could give you a straight forward response to this question! However there actually is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are so many unique products readily available and each and every one has its own benefits and disadvantages. To determine which is the best roof for your home, you should have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they see, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends on the type of roof and what inspections are needed. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on certain days then this is going to add more time to the task. A small home could take around a week or so, while more substantial industrial jobs could be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just make sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Due to the fact that your roof is continuously subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to deteriorate over time. The speed at which it deteriorates will depend upon a range of factors. Those include; the grade of the original materials used as well as the workmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised due to the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of washing away any covering minerals that have been included to give shielding from the elements. On top of that, you really should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can easily also diminish the life-span of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the ugly algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.

More About Fairview, OR

Fairview is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 8,920.

Members of the Multnomah tribe of Chinookan Indians lived in a village near the Columbia River (the future site of Fairview) when the Lewis and Clark Expedition visited the area in 1806. By the 1840s and 1850s, white settlers began hay, grain, and livestock operations in what would become eastern Multnomah County. Railroad tracks extended to the area by the 1890s, and, as the population grew, residents began referring to the locale as Fairview because of the pleasing views of the nearby river, the Columbia River Gorge, and Mount Hood. Since another community named Fairview already existed on the Oregon Coast, the community’s first post office was named Cleone until the coastal post office closed and the name was transferred to Fairview.[5]
