FAQs

Being one of their largest investments people typically have a lotof questions prior to coming to a conclusion , below are a number of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a certified roofing professional, most roofing tasks should never be undertaken yourself. Also always remember that most manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a certified professional carries out the task. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth risking your health in order to save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a simple response to this question! However, there actually is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each one will have its own benefits and disadvantages. To know which is the ideal roof for you, you really should have a professional come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they see, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It actually depends upon the type of roof you currently have and exactly what surveys are needed. Also, remember that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on particular days then this will add time to the task. A smaller home could take about a week or so, whereas larger commercial jobs may be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just make certain your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Considering that your roof is consistently subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to break down gradually. The rate at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a number of variables. Those include; the grade of the original materials used and the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed as a result of the above factors. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any covering materials that have been added to give shielding from the weather. In addition, you should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can also cut down the life of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will remove the ugly algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.

More About Fairview, OR

Fairview is a city in Multnomah County, Oregon, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 8,920.

Members of the Multnomah tribe of Chinookan Indians lived in a village near the Columbia River (the future site of Fairview) when the Lewis and Clark Expedition visited the area in 1806. By the 1840s and 1850s, white settlers began hay, grain, and livestock operations in what would become eastern Multnomah County. Railroad tracks extended to the area by the 1890s, and, as the population grew, residents began referring to the locale as Fairview because of the pleasing views of the nearby river, the Columbia River Gorge, and Mount Hood. Since another community named Fairview already existed on the Oregon Coast, the community’s first post office was named Cleone until the coastal post office closed and the name was transferred to Fairview.[5]
