FAQs
As one of their biggest expenditures people typically have a plenty of questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are a few of the more common ones…
Unless you’re a properly trained roofing professional, most roofing jobs shouldn’t be carried out yourself. In addition remember that the majority of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the work. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof may be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?
It would be really good if we were able to give you a straight forward response to this question! But there actually is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are many unique products available and each will have its own merits and disadvantages. To figure out which is the ideal roof for your home, you should have a contractor come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they have seen, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It really is dependent on the type of roof you have and what inspections are mandated. Also, remember that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on certain days then this will add time to the task. A smaller home might take about a week or so, whereas much larger industrial projects could be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just make sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Considering that your roof is continuously exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to break down over time. The pace at which it breaks down will depend upon a range of factors. These include; the grade of the original components that were used and the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any covering minerals that have been included to offer shielding from the elements. Additionally, you really should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can also reduce the life of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will eliminate the unpleasant algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.
