FAQs

Being one of their largest investments people typically have a many questions before makingany decisions , listed here are a few of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you’re a certified contractor, most roofing jobs shouldn’t be carried out yourself. Additionally bear in mind that the majority of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a certified roofing contractor carries out the task. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a straight forward response to that question! However, there actually is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are many different products available and each will have its own merits and faults. To figure out which is the ideal roof for you, you really should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they observe, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends upon the type of roof and exactly what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we just can’t work on a number of days then this will certainly add more time to the task. A smaller home may take around a week or so, while much larger commercial projects could be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just ensure your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Because your roof is continuously exposed to the weather, it means your roof is going to degrade with time. The pace at which it deteriorates will depend on a variety of factors. Those include; the grade of the original components used and the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above issues. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any covering materials that have been added to offer shielding from the weather. Also, you should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they may also lower the life-span of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will eliminate the unattractive algae and staining without destroying the tile or shingles.

Naturally, gradually the roof starts to deteriorate from continued weather damaging. A structurally sound roofing does not fall apart simultaneously however rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing system assessments identify these weak points early prior to they spread and trigger extreme damage to part or the entire roof.

Roofing system inspections at regular periods root out roofing system problems before they can even manifest themselves; extending the life expectancy of your roofing system. Many homeowners only take notice of their roofs when there is visible damage, such as leakages and structural failure. Reality is, with routine evaluation such issues are typically averted.

Roofing inspections save you both cash and time and are among one of the most standard roof maintenance practices. There are several factors that can cause a roofing’s condition to degrade with time. These are the results homeowners are least knowledgeable about because the signs are subtle and require time to show.: Weather components are the main cause of roof damage.

The weather slowly rusts and wears down the roofing product, and put stress onto the roofing system structure.
