FAQs
As one of their largest financial investments people usually have a bunch of questions prior to makingany decisions , listed here are some of the most common ones…
Unless you’re a trained roofing professional, most roofing tasks shouldn’t be performed yourself. Additionally always remember that the majority of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the work. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof may be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?
It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a simple answer to this question! However, there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of unique products available and each one will have its own merits and faults. To figure out which is the ideal roof for your home, you really should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they find, your roof design, the climate you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It actually depends upon the kind of roof you currently have and exactly what surveys are needed. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we cannot work on particular days then this will add time to the task. A small home may take about a week or so, whereas much larger industrial jobs can be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just make certain your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Due to the fact that your roof is continuously subjected to the weather, it means your roof is will degrade with time. The pace at which it breaks down will be dependent on a variety of factors. Those include; the quality of the initial components that were used as well as the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed because of the above variables. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of taking off any covering minerals that have been added to provide protection from the elements. Furthermore, you should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they may also decrease the life-span of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will eliminate the undesirable algae and discoloration without ruining the tile or shingles.
