FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their biggest expenditures people usually have a number of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , listed here are some of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you’re a qualified roofing professional, most roofing work shouldn’t be carried out yourself. Additionally remember that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a certified professional performs the job. Something else to remember is that working on a roof could be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?
It would be really good if we could give you a simple response to that question! However there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are many different products readily available and each and every one has its own advantages and disadvantages. To determine which is the right roof for your home, you ought to have a professional come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they have seen, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the type of roof you currently have and exactly what inspections are mandated. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add time to the task. A smaller home might take about a week or so, while more substantial commercial jobs might be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Due to the fact that your roof is always exposed to the outside elements, it means your roof is going to break down over time. The pace at which it breaks down will be dependent on a range of variables. These include; the grade of the initial materials used as well as the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but that can never be promised because of the above variables. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of washing away any protective minerals that have been included to provide cover from the elements. Also, you really should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they may also lower the life of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will remove the ugly algae and yellowing without ruining the tile or shingles.
