FAQs
Being one of their biggest expenditures people always have a bunch of questions before makingany decisions , listed here are a few of the most common ones…
Unless you are a trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing tasks really should not be carried out yourself. Also always remember that the majority of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the work. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?
It would be great if we could give you a straight forward answer to this question! However, there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of unique products available and each has its own merits and disadvantages. To figure out which is the ideal roof for your home, you ought to have a professional come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions according to what they find, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely depends on the type of roof and exactly what evaluations are required. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add time to the task. A smaller home may take about a week or so, whereas larger commercial projects can be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just see to it your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Given that your roof is continually exposed to the weather, it means your roof is going to break down over time. The rate at which it breaks down will depend upon a range of factors. These include; the grade of the original components that were used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the style of the roof. Most roofing companies will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of eliminating any covering minerals that have been added to offer protection from the elements. Also, you should avoid chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also decrease the life-span of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will remove the aesthetically displeasing algae and discoloration without destroying the tile or shingles.
