FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Being one of their most significant expenditures people typically have a number of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , listed here are a number of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you are a qualified contractor, the majority of roofing work shouldn’t be undertaken yourself. Additionally bear in mind that the majority of manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those products unless a certified roofing contractor carries out the task. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very hazardous, so is it really worth risking your health for you to save money?

It would be great if we could give you a straight forward answer to this question! However, there actually is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are several different products available and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. To know which is the best roof for you, you really should have a professional come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they discover, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends upon the kind of roof and what inspections are needed. Also, bear in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on certain days then this will definitely add time to the job. A smaller home might take around a week or so, whereas much larger commercial projects may be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Because your roof is continually exposed to the weather, this means your roof is will deteriorate over time. The speed at which it breaks down will depend on a variety of variables. Those include; the grade of the initial components used as well as the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed as a result of the above issues. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you take the risk of eliminating any protective materials that have been added to provide shielding from the elements. Furthermore, you should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they can also diminish the life-span of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will get rid of the undesirable algae and yellowing without destroying the tile or shingles.
