FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their biggest investments people usually have a lotof questions before makingany decisions , below are a number of the most common ones…
Unless you are a trained roofing professional, most roofing jobs should not be performed yourself. Additionally remember that almost all manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a licensed professional carries out the task. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?
It would be fantastic if we could give you a simple response to this question! However there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are many different products available and each has its own merits and disadvantages. To determine which is the ideal roof for your home, you ought to have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they have seen, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely is dependent on the kind of roof and what surveys are required. Also, remember that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A smaller home could take around a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just ensure that your roofing company keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Given that your roof is constantly exposed to the weather, this means your roof is going to diminish gradually. The pace at which it degrades will depend upon a variety of variables. These include; the grade of the original components used as well as the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is preserved and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed due to the above issues. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of eliminating any protective materials that have been added to offer shielding from the weather. Furthermore, you really should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can also decrease the life of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will eliminate the aesthetically displeasing algae and yellowing without damaging the tile or shingles.
