FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their largest financial investments people usually have a number of questions before makingany decisions , below are a few of the more commonplace ones…
Unless you are a properly trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing jobs really should not be performed yourself. Additionally keep in mind that most manufacturers of products utilized in the roof repair will not warranty those items unless a licensed professional performs the work. The other thing to always remember is that working on a roof can be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health in order to save money?
It would be great if we could give you a simple answer to this question! However there really is no single answer fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of different products readily available and each and every one will have its own benefits and disadvantages. To figure out which is the right roof for you, you really should have a contractor come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they discover, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the type of roof and exactly what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on a number of days then this will add time to the job. A small home might take around a week or so, while more substantial industrial jobs can be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just see to it your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Given that your roof is continually exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is going to degrade gradually. The rate at which it degrades will be dependent on a variety of factors. Those include; the quality of the original materials that were used along with the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing professionals will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be promised due to the above issues. Our advice is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of eliminating any covering minerals that have been included to give cover from the weather. Furthermore, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they can also diminish the life-span of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning professional, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will get rid of the undesirable algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.
