FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
As one of their biggest investments people always have a plenty of questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are a number of the more common ones…
Unless you are a trained contractor, most roofing tasks should never be undertaken yourself. In addition always remember that most manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those products unless a certified roofing contractor performs the work. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof can be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?
It would be fantastic if we were able to give you a simple response to that question! But there really is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of unique products readily available and each and every one has its own advantages and faults. To determine which is the best roof for your home, you should have an expert come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they observe, the type of roof you have, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely is dependent on the kind of roof and what evaluations are required. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we just can’t work on particular days then this is going to add more time to the job. A smaller home might take around a week or so, while larger industrial jobs could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just be sure your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Considering that your roof is always subjected to the weather, it means your roof is will break down with time. The pace at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a range of variables. Those include; the quality of the original components used as well as the workmanship, the amount of abuse it has to take from the weather, how well the roof is taken care of and the type of roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised due to the above variables. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of washing away any protective minerals that have been added to provide protection from the elements. Also, you really should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they may also diminish the life-span of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will get rid of the unsightly algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.
