FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Being one of their largest investments people typically have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , below are a number of the most common ones…
Unless you are a trained contractor, the majority of roofing work should never be undertaken yourself. Additionally always remember that the majority of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof will not warranty those items unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the work. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof can be very hazardous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health so you can save money?
It would be great if we could give you a straight forward answer to that question! However, there really is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are many unique products readily available and each and every one has its own advantages and faults. To figure out which is the best roof for you, you should have a professional come and take a look at your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they observe, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.
It really depends upon the kind of roof and exactly what evaluations are mandated. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on a number of days then this will add time to the task. A small home might take around a week or so, whereas more substantial industrial projects may be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.
Because your roof is always exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will degrade over time. The speed at which it breaks down will depend on a variety of factors. These include; the quality of the original materials used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the design of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed because of the above issues. Our advice is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You shouldn’t ever pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any protective materials that have been added to provide shielding from the elements. Furthermore, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also reduce the lifespan of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will get rid of the unappealing algae and discoloration without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Bladensburg, MD
Bladensburg is a town in Prince George’s County, Maryland, United States.[6] The population was 9,148 at the 2010 census.[7] Areas in Bladensburg are located within ZIP code 20710. Bladensburg is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) from central Washington.
Originally called Garrison’s Landing, Bladensburg was renamed in honor of Thomas Bladen, governor of Maryland, 1742–1747. Bladensburg was established in 1742 as a regional commercial center by an act of the Maryland General Assembly. The act also authorized the town commissioners to purchase 60 acres (240,000 m2) of land to be laid out in 1-acre (4,000 m2) lots. The act required that a house covering at least 400 square feet (37 m2) of ground with a brick or stone chimney be constructed within 18 months of the sale of the lot. As of 6 June 1746, only 18 of the lots had been improved according to the stipulations of the act. Christopher Lowndes’ house, Bostwick, and those built by David Ross and William Hilleary (the William Hilleary House) were among them.[8]

A structurally sound roofing does not crumble all at when however rather breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing evaluations find these weak areas early before they spread and cause severe damage to part or the whole roofing system.
Roof assessments at routine periods root out roofing problems before they can even manifest themselves; extending the life expectancy of your roofing. The majority of homeowners only take note of their roofing systems when there is obvious damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Fact is, with regular assessment such problems are typically evaded.

Roofing system inspections save you both money and time and are among one of the most standard roofing system maintenance practices. There are a number of aspects that can cause a roofing system’s condition to deteriorate with time. These are the effects house owners are least mindful of because the indications are subtle and take time to show.: Weather condition elements are the primary reason for roofing damage.
The weather condition gradually wears away and erodes the roof material, and put strain onto the roof structure. Poor or lack of roofing system upkeep practices such as cleaning, painting, mold removal and snow scraping contribute to the wearing down of the roofing. Not all roofing specialists are as good as marketed. Due to absence of ability or just neglect, a roof is improperly set up, affecting its effectiveness as a roofing and its resilience to damage.
