FAQs

As one of their biggest financial investments people usually have a many questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are some of the most common ones…

Unless you are a properly trained roofing professional, the majority of roofing work should never be carried out yourself. Also keep in mind that a large number of manufacturers of products used in the roof repair won’t warranty those products unless a licensed professional carries out the job. Something else to always remember is that working on a roof is going to be very dangerous, so is it really worth risking your health for you to save money?

It would be great if we could give you a simple answer to that question! However there actually is no one answer that fits all for every question like that. There are many different products available and each one will have its own advantages and faults. To know which is the best roof for your home, you should have an expert come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they have seen, your roof design, the climate you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends upon the type of roof and exactly what surveys are needed. Also, remember that we will be working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on particular days then this will definitely add time to the task. A small home might take about a week or so, whereas larger industrial jobs may be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just make sure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Since your roof is continuously exposed to the outside elements, this means your roof is will diminish gradually. The rate at which it breaks down will depend on a number of variables. Those include; the grade of the original components used and the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the weather, how well the roof is maintained and the style of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be promised as a result of the above issues. Our suggestion is to consistently keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of eliminating any covering materials that have been added to offer protection from the elements. Furthermore, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they may also cut down the life of your roof. When you communicate with your roof cleaning specialist, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the aesthetically displeasing algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.

Find out more Consider the roofing system as your house’s first line of defense versus all the weather aspects. Naturally, over time the roofing system starts to damage from continued weather battering. A structurally sound roof does not collapse at one time but instead breaks down piece by piece along its weak lines. Roof inspections find these weak spots early prior to they spread out and cause extreme damage to part or the whole roofing.

Roofing system inspections at routine periods root out roof issues before they can even manifest themselves; extending the life-span of your roof. A lot of property owners just focus on their roofings when there is noticeable damage, such as leakages and structural failure. Truth is, with regular evaluation such problems are typically averted.

Roof evaluations conserve you both cash and time and are one of the many fundamental roofing system upkeep practices. There are numerous aspects that can cause a roofing system’s condition to deteriorate with time. These are the results house owners are least knowledgeable about because the signs are subtle and require time to show.: Weather condition elements are the main cause of roof damage.

The weather condition gradually rusts and wears down the roofing material, and put stress onto the roof structure. Poor or lack of roof maintenance practices such as cleaning, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping contribute to the using down of the roofing system. Not all roofing experts are as good as advertised. Due to absence of ability or just negligence, a roof is poorly set up, impacting its effectiveness as a roofing and its durability to damage.
