FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As one of their most significant financial investments people usually have a plenty of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are a number of the more common ones…

Unless you’re a trained roofing professional, most roofing work should never be performed yourself. Also bear in mind that almost all manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof will not warranty those products unless a certified professional performs the task. Something else to remember is that working on a roof can be very risky, so is it really worth endangering your health so you can save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a straight forward response to that question! However, there actually is no one answer fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of unique products available and each one has its own merits and faults. To figure out which is the right roof for you, you really should have an expert come and check out your roof and they can make suggestions based on what they observe, your roof design, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It really depends upon the kind of roof and what inspections are required. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we cannot work on particular days then this will definitely add more time to the job. A small home might take about a week or so, whereas more substantial commercial projects could be anything from a few weeks to a number of months. Just ensure your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Because your roof is always exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will diminish gradually. The rate at which it deteriorates will be dependent on a number of variables. These include; the grade of the original components that were used as well as the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is taken care of and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and well-kept roof, but obviously that can never be promised because of the above variables. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular roof inspections to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of eliminating any protective minerals that have been included to give shielding from the elements. In addition, you should stay clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products as they can easily also decrease the life of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning professional, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. This will eliminate the unpleasant algae and yellowing without damaging the tile or shingles.
