FAQs
Being one of their biggest expenditures people typically have a ton of questions before coming to a conclusion , listed here are a few of the more common ones…
Unless you’re a qualified roofing professional, most roofing tasks should not be carried out yourself. Additionally keep in mind that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the job. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof is going to be very risky, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health for you to save money?
It would be great if we were able to give you a simple response to this question! However, there really is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are a lot of unique products readily available and each and every one has its own benefits and disadvantages. To determine which is the right roof for you, you should have a professional come and take a look at your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they have seen, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.
It definitely depends upon the type of roof you have and what evaluations are required. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on certain days then this will certainly add time to the job. A smaller home might take around a week or so, while much larger commercial projects might be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just ensure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.
Considering that your roof is constantly exposed to the weather, this means your roof is will degrade with time. The pace at which it breaks down will depend upon a number of variables. Those include; the grade of the original materials used and the workmanship, the level of abuse it has to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the type of roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but that can never be promised because of the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to make sure it lasts as long as possible.
You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any covering minerals that have been included to offer protection from the elements. Furthermore, you should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaners since they could also cut down the life of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to wash your roof. That will clear away the unattractive algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.
