FAQs

Being one of their biggest investments people typically have a number of questions prior to coming to a conclusion , below are some of the more common ones…

Unless you’re a trained contractor, the majority of roofing jobs really should not be performed yourself. Also always remember that most manufacturers of products used in the roof repair will not warranty those items unless a certified professional performs the job. The other thing to bear in mind is that working on a roof may be very dangerous, so is it really worth jeopardizing your health in order to save money?

It would be great if we were able to give you a straight forward answer to that question! However there really is no one answer that fits all for each question like that. There are plenty of different products readily available and each one has its own merits and disadvantages. To determine which is the ideal roof for you, you should have an expert come and examine your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they find, your roof design, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends upon the kind of roof and what evaluations are required. Also, keep in mind that we will be working outdoors in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we just can’t work on certain days then this will add more time to the job. A small home could take around a week or so, while more substantial industrial jobs can be anything from a few weeks to a few months. Just ensure your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you should be fine.

Since your roof is constantly exposed to the weather, it means your roof is will diminish with time. The pace at which it degrades will depend on a range of factors. Those include; the grade of the initial components used and the craftsmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is maintained and the type of roof. Most roofing contractors will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but obviously that can never be promised due to the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should never pressure wash your roof, as you run the risk of getting rid of any covering materials that have been added to offer protection from the elements. On top of that, you really should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they may also reduce the lifespan of your roof. When you talk to your roof cleaning expert, ask them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. That will eliminate the unsightly algae and yellowing without ruining the tile or shingles.

Discover More Think about the roofing system as your home’s first line of defense against all the weather aspects. Naturally, in time the roofing starts to weaken from continued weather condition battering. A structurally sound roof does not crumble simultaneously but instead falls apart piece by piece along its weak lines. Roofing assessments spot these weak points early before they spread and trigger extreme damage to part or the whole roofing.

Roofing system evaluations at routine intervals root out roofing issues before they can even manifest themselves; extending the lifespan of your roof. A lot of property owners just take notice of their roofs when there is obvious damage, such as leaks and structural failure. Reality is, with routine assessment such problems are generally evaded.

Roofing assessments conserve you both cash and time and are one of one of the most basic roof upkeep practices. There are a number of aspects that can cause a roofing’s condition to degrade with time. These are the results property owners are least familiar with due to the fact that the signs are subtle and take time to show.: Weather aspects are the primary reason for roofing damage.

The weather gradually rusts and erodes the roofing material, and put pressure onto the roofing system structure. Poor or lack of roofing system upkeep practices such as cleansing, painting, mold elimination and snow scraping contribute to the wearing down of the roofing. Not all roofing experts are as great as advertised. Due to absence of ability or merely neglect, a roofing system is poorly installed, impacting its effectiveness as a roofing and its durability to damage.
